It’s Halloween time in Stratford and the Community Builders Hub is helping to pull together all the fun things going on around town!
Here’s what’s happening:
- Stratford Public Library will have Littlebat’s Halloween Story, by Diane Mayr, displayed on the Storywalk at the Backstreet River Recreational Park, just steps from the library, for the month of October. Bring the family to walk the path, read the story and enjoy the fall scenery along the way!
- The Hub is hosting a Pumpkin Carving Party at the Pavilion by the library on the Stratford Town Common on Wednesday, October 28th at 3 PM. Complimentary warm apple cider and cookies will be shared. Bring a pumpkin and carving tools if you are able. A limited number of locally sourced pumpkins and carving kits are available, by texting 802-277-1974 to reserve in advance. Neighbors are invited to bring carved jack-o-lanterns (either at this time, or at their leisure) to place along the Storywalk by each post. Lights will be provided.
- Stratford Public School will be continuing the growing tradition of Trunk or Treat, on Friday, Oct. 30 from 4-6 PM at the school. Trick or treaters are welcomed to come in costume to enjoy the festivities. Anyone interested in setting up a trunk, please sign up through this form. Concessions will be available for purchase inside the cafeteria, including hot dogs, nachos and popcorn, making for an easy dinner night for families and a fundraiser for school activities. Attendees are encouraged to check out the lighted jack-o-lantern path afterwards, at the Backstreet River Reacreational Park, which will remain lit on Halloween night, as well.
- Stratford’s town-wide Trick or Treating will take place on Halloween, Sat. October 31st, from 4-7 PM. Don’t forget to check out the jack-o-lanterns at the park while out and about. The town of Stratford will be providing candy at the end of the path!
