Arcana: Art Show at The Three Sisters

December 12, 2023

What began as a passion project among friends became a true example of creating a shared experience across a wide variety of community members. Local metalsmith Laura Jamison and sometimes artist, mostly community builder Mandy Bernd collaborated on an interactive diorama based on the Tarot’s Empress card. Attendees were invited and encouraged to bedeck themselves in the Empress’ garments and jewelry and set themselves within the scene.

Folks of all ages and genders participated in this shared experience. Though the diorama debuted at the Gallery opening, it was available to the public throughout the month. Deirdre Blair, Three Sisters Gallery owner, regularly posted photos of folks participating in this shared experience. It was, and is, truly an example of the ways in which accessible and playful art can blossom within a community.
