In 2024, we helped to pull together a Stratford Park Clean-Up Day on the afternoon of June 29th. A dozen hardy volunteers tackled community improvement projects in the rain that day, and gathered at DeBanville’s afterwards for a slice of pizza, drinks and live music to celebrate. We accomplished the following together at the Back Street River Park in the north of town:
- Brush clean-up alongside the river
- Built two new benches to replace old ones by the basketball court
- Cleaned out & repainted the ballfield dugouts
- Stained the River Launch sign
This year we are planning round two and calling it a Community Day! (Now called Community Week and extended to work around weather.) Here’s what’s in store for projects:

Stratford Public School Community Clean-Up projects- rescheduled to Tuesday May 27, 1-3 PM (due to poor weather)
- Reviving school garden beds, led by school staff, with younger grades.
- Litter pickup for older students.
- Repainting school dugouts.
Projects to take place all week, starting Saturday, May 24th, 2025 at 9 AM (please sign up to be connected with a project leader by emailing britni@thecbh.org) Thank you leaders!
- Painting benches led by Molly Carr
- Pavilion clean up led by Sarah Kennett
- Staining benches & picnic tables led by Suzanne Goulet
- Flower planter cleanup led by Jamie Davis
- Brush clean-up along the edge of the park (contact town office)
We are going to kick off this Community Week on 5/24 at 5 PM, by enjoying live music at DeBanville’s in Bloomfield, VT! At the end of the week, all volunteers that helped out are invited to a pizza party at 5 PM on 5/30, sponsored by DeBanville’s. We thank them for their partnership & support on this effort, as well as the Stratford Public School and Stratford Town Office.

Together we can do so much to beautify Stratford! We love to have fun and get stuff done! If you are interested in volunteering for a project, please contact Britni Haley at britni@thecbh.org or 802-277-1974. Feel free to send a text. See Facebook Event for updates.
