A free regional history presentation entitled “Then & Now in the North Country”, led by the Colebrook Area Historical Society, will also take place at the Tillotson Center on October 17th, starting at 1:30 PM. Pictures of northern NH & VT places from years ago will be showcased, compared to today’s views of the scenes.
Prior to the presentation, join in a Local Historical Society Social at 1:00 p.m. in the gallery, to visit with Pittsburg Historical Society, Canaan Historical Society, Lemington Historical Society, Colebrook Area Historical Society, Cohos Historical Society & 1799 Meeting House and the Community Builders Hub. Members of the local historical groups will participate in the presentation, sharing their knowledge of their respective regions.
Those interested in the North Country’s history are invited to attend monthly History Buff Meet-Ups at the Tillotson Center starting in November. Details will be forthcoming at the Oct. 17th presentation. The North Country Chamber of Commerce also has created a webpage to promote our local history at chamberofthenorthcountry.com/history/, which includes a downloadable brochure to points of interest.
