SUMMARY:October Business After Hours & Housing Resources Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The North Country Chamber of Commerce invites community members to attend a Business After Hours event on Thursday\, October 9th from 5:30-7:30 PM at The Black Bear Tavern\, located at 151 Main Street in Colebrook. A free Housing Resources in the North Country Workshop will also be presented by North Country Council at the same location from 4:30-5:30 PM. Attendees are encouraged to come to both offerings\, and bring business cards to network. \nThe new owners of the Black Bear Tavern\, Shane and Courtney Rudd\, who recently relocated here from Idaho\, have added front porch seating and other updates to the long-time Colebrook restaurant. The building was originally built in 1830 as a private home\, and later converted to an inn. (You can learn more about its rich history at blackbeartav.com/history/.) Shane and Courtney look forward to leading the establishment forward\, getting involved in the community and meeting community members. Light refreshments will be served by the hosts and a ribbon cutting will be performed by the Chamber to celebrate the new ownership of the business. \nThe Housing Resources in the North Country Workshop\, starting at 4:30 PM in the Black Bear Tavern’s function room\, will cover housing resources available to find\, secure and retain housing in the North Country. Attendees will learn about a variety of programs\, from affordable homeownership and down-payment assistance\, to rental support and educational opportunities. Employers and residents are welcome. Please email acleveland@nccouncil.org to RSVP. This presentation is provided by North Country Council\, with funding from NH Housing. \nThe Community Builders Hub has helped to organize this event and will be offering a door prize\, as well. Business After Hours serve as a way for community members to get together and learn more about local businesses and the Chamber\, in an open house style format. The Chamber offers these promotional/social opportunities as well as ribbon cutting ceremonies to member businesses. Those interested in hosting a Business After Hours or ribbon cutting at their business may contact Executive Director\, Butch Ladd\, at 603-237-8939. \n
